Swayback vs. Lubro sacral arch

After reading the stack sitting chapter i realized that i have what looks like a swayback

I am pretty skinny and tilting my pelvis.

I can't seem to figure out how to make my back straight without reverting my pelvis.

Thanks

Nick

It's possible that your L5-S1 joint is super stiff or even rigid and that you cannot bend at L5-S1. Unless you have been surgically fused there, this is rare.

What's most likely is that arching  / swaying your back is much more familiar and "available" to you than is tilting the pelvis. You have probably been instructed to "sit up straight" (results in sway) and to tuck your pelvis. The order in which I woudl recommend addressgin these issues is first figure out how to eradicate your sway and maintain a steady elongated lumbar spine. Then work on introducing pevlic tilt / anteversion. Slow and steady is the best way. Use stacksitting with a wedge and stretchlying on your side to explore pvlice tilt. The bolster exercise can help you gain familiarity with this architecture as well as lossen up stiffness at the L5-S1 juncture..
